![]() The CPA Legends maintained their unbeaten record against NZ Croatia after a solid team performance at Cornwall Park on Sunday. The third instalment of this fixture was meant to be the Cro’s chance for redemption - righting the balance of the previous two results as it were. Buoyed with the confidence gained by swatting away their opposition during an unbeaten 2015/16 season, the Cro’s were determined to register their first win against the CPA side - especially after the heart breaking loss in the final over last year. ![]() The CPA is very saddened to hear of the passing of New Zealand cricketing great Martin Crowe. Martin is still regarded as our greatest ever batsman and he will be greatly missed by the cricketing community in New Zealand and around the world. All our members will be deeply affected on this sad day, particularly those who he played alongside and those current players that he has mentored in recent years. ![]() The inaugural presentation for the CPA Players' Award was completed at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth following the final Twenty20 international against Australia. The players have been a driving force in establishing the player voted award following the success of the same award in the men's team. There was a high level anticipation as to who would win the inaugural cap, before former White Ferns captain Aimee Watkins presented the first ever players' award to Suzie Bates. ![]() A summer that saw Kane Williamson scale to the top of the ICC World Test Batsman rankings was concluded with the ultimate accolade - acknowledgement from his cricketing peers as the 2016 The PLAYERS’ Cap recipient. The stellar 12 months for Kane Williamson was punctuated by consistency across all three formats and saw him become the first player to be awarded the player's award for a second time - a feat made more remarkable by the fact it was achieved across consecutive seasons. |
