Hooked on Cricket.
21 years of creating great memories
In March, we celebrated 20 years of Hooked on Cricket — a milestone that reflects on the commitment of of members to give back to the community and the power of grassroots sport to connect and uplift. This short video captures just a sample of the feedback we’ve received from those involved in the programme, particularly the players who have experienced its impact firsthand. Thank you to the Queen Street Cricket Club for your unwavering support over the past two decades.
Hooked on Cricket
Hooked-on-Cricket was established by the professional players of New Zealand with the purpose of providing Tamariki from schools not traditionally strong in cricket the opportunity to express themselves through cricket and to share a love of sport. A key aspect of Hooked-on-Cricket is to seek to inspire the next generation of kiwi kids to be successful in what they do and to encourage them toward success in sport and life.
While we love seeing Tamariki displaying their cricket skills and hope it may spark a longer-term interest in the sport, that is not what the day is about.. its primary objective is to showcase the amazing sporting talent and skills that kids throughout New Zealand have. We would love it if you could join us at the upcoming Hooked-on-Cricket tournament.
